Call of Lightning
18. Princess Kalya
Srak! Srak! Srak!
All the Elves behind the princess raised their arrows, aiming them at Kenan.
"Don't ever bother Princess Kalya!" A large female Elf looked angry, standing right behind Princess Kalya.
"Wait! Wait! We came here to ask for help! We want to find the legendary weapon, the Sword of Lightning!" Aeera shouted, raising both hands in a sign of peace.
"The Sword of Lightning? A myth that no longer holds any sway. Everyone has given up hope, and we have hidden ourselves in our homes. You are too naive!" exclaimed Kalya, the princess of the Elves of Tegret Forest.
"So..." Kenan said, "You are Princess Kalya. Oh well!" Kenan realized now, "There's no way Luna is here. That's in my world, not this one. However, your faces are very similar!"
"Don't be rude!" shouted Princess Kalya's bodyguard, Rakia.
"Enough, Rakia. He just misunderstood."
Kalya tried to calm her guards.
"So... what kind of help do you want?" Kalya asked.
"We want to borrow the Golden Compass," Aeera said.
"What!"
All the Elves were shocked to hear this, and Princess Kalya tried to calm them down. First, the three humans had come with the intention of searching for the Thunder Sword, which was naive. Second, they wanted to borrow the Golden Compass, the most important treasure the Elf race possessed. So, of course, both of those things were impossible and far-fetched.
"Go back to your homes and continue your lives in peace. Never dream of the impossible. I've lived in this world for a long time, so I'm trying to give you some good advice."
Princess Kalya's voice represented all the Elves there. Princess Kalya was right; the humans who tried to be heroes were baseless. The Thunder Sword, a fairy tale of hope for all races, a weapon of liberation that could defeat the Demon King and the King of Monsters, was all just an old fairy tale.
"No, princess. I, Aeera, promise in my mother's name. We will obtain that weapon and free this world from monsters and demons!"
Aeera said with such conviction that even Kenan narrowed his eyes in surprise. There was silence, a girl so certain. She wanted to obtain that mythical weapon and free the world from centuries of slavery.
Ha... ha... ha...
All the Elves laughed except Princess Kalya.
"Everyone, be quiet!" Kalya shouted, and everyone fell silent, afraid of the princess.
"Little one, your name was Aeera, wasn't it? I'll try to give you the best advice. I've lived for two hundred years, and I've seen everything in this world. So, my advice is, go home and enjoy the rest of your long life. Go home, beautiful girl!"
Princess Kalya tried to reason with the girl. Of course, Kalya felt sorry for her, as she hadn't yet experienced the cruelty of this world. She only had enthusiasm, but what good was enthusiasm without knowing the true side of the truth? "No, Princess," Aeera extended her right hand toward Kenan. "I already have Lord Kalandra. He is my strongest summon. Once, I had no hope in life and was always a lowly, hopeless human. Since I met Lord Kalandra, I have learned to reach for the highest hopes and free this world from demons and monsters!"
"Summoned creature?" Kalya and the Elves looked at Kenan from head to toe, a strange man dressed in the strangest of clothes. He wore ordinary clothes and had a picture of a... a metal robot. His hair was slightly disheveled, and he was acting strangely.
"So... is this your magical summon?" Kalya asked once more.
"Yes, Princess!"
Kalya and all the Elves knew that summoning creatures was the strangest of magic. They created imaginations and used the power of spirits connected to their summoners. However, they had never imagined a summoned creature standing like a human. It was unnatural.
"Why are you so sure, little girl?" Kalya asked again.
"Because we just defeated the Demon Cylorg with Lord Kalandra's power. This time, we will find that legendary weapon to kill the Demon King and the Monster King!
Kalya listened to Aeera's words. Cylorg was a second-tier being in the Demonic realm, and if they could defeat him, then they must possess great power. That is, if they weren't lying.
"A summoned creature capable of defeating Cylorg! So, to believe it, can we test his strength?" Kalya asked challengingly.
"Of course, Princess. Lord Kalandra will accept the test!" Aeera was excited.
"Alright, follow us."
Kalya asked the three of them to follow her lead, if indeed their power could defeat Cylorg. At the very least, they possessed great power. Kalya wanted to know if Aeera was telling the truth or lying.
"Wait!" Kenan's voice stopped everyone.
"What else is there? Are you afraid to take the test of truth?" Kalya asked, slightly annoyed.
"What's wrong, Mr. Kalandra?" Aeera looked at Kenan, curious.
"Wait a minute... so you said you were 200 years old! Are you really 200 years old, when your face still looks like a 20-year-old girl?"
Kenan was curious, and he really didn't know. Elves can live up to 1,000 years. This is because they absorb life from nature through nature magic. Therefore, they inhabit forests far from human reach.

"We've arrived!"
Princess Kalya led the three humans through a portal that appeared in the tree trunk where the Elves lived. They entered a large arena, where an Elven knight wearing Elven knight armor was already standing. The man held a spear, and his eyes fixed on the three incoming humans. He also noticed one of the men wielding a sword; it was Yuhas.
"Is that the man with the sword I must face, Princess Kalya?" asked the Elf man named Genio.
"No, Guardian Genio. You must face that human figure with the long hair!" Kalya pointed at Kenan.
"That human?" Genio asked, once again surprised. He thought the sword-wielding man was Yuhas, the one he was testing. However, the man was wearing a strange bag, looking like an adventurer who had lost his supplies.
"Show your strength and fight our strongest knight, Guardian Genio!"
Princess Kalya signaled Kenan to enter the arena and prepare to fight Genio. Aeera encouraged Kenan, her smile etched into his face, confident that Lord Kalandra would be able to handle Genio.
Kenan, confident, stepped forward and entered the arena. Before doing so, he dropped his bag at the edge of the arena. He raised his arms and stretched, feeling his back quite tired.
"Choose your weapon, Human!"
Genio invited Kenan to choose from the prizes at the edge of the arena, a complete arsenal lined up. Kenan looked at all the weapons, so this was a training ground for the Elves.
"I don't need a weapon; I'm a warrior," Kenan said confidently.
"Alright, prepare to be taken down quickly!"
Wooshh!
A powerful energy surrounded Guardian Genio, and Princess Kalya saw it. She wondered if the summoned creature really possessed such great power. This was because Aeera had previously said that her summoned creature had defeated Cylorg.
"Prepare to fall instantly, human!" Genio shouted.
Wind swirled around Genio. He raised his spear, spun it, and swung it at Kenan. The movement was incredibly fast, and the energy that accompanied the spear's swing exerted intense pressure. All the Elves who witnessed this were certain that any human facing Genio would be fatally struck and likely instantly knocked down.
Wooshh!
Kenan smiled; the attack was incredibly fast. However, his eyes were able to see the attack.
"I gave you the chance to draw your weapon. Yet, you refused. Accept your stupidity, human!"
HIIIIIAAAAA!
Clap!
Brush!
The pressure exploded, and everyone present had difficulty seeing how Guardian Genio's power struck the human. Genio, one of the most powerful guardians who protects the Elves' home in Tegret Forest.
Is it the end for humans? The Elves smiled.
