Call of Lightning

35. Shodam's Attack Begins

"You insult me, Cyton!" Shodam shouted. He was furious at being tricked into attacking the summoned creature with three attacks. Shodam's pride had been mocked; at least if his army were still around, he would have crushed the monster army's arrogance.

"I was kind enough to you, Shodam! I remembered our friendship in dividing the territory as agreed upon. Now, you have no army, and you were almost killed by a human. So, I'm giving you a chance and helping you destroy that human in three attacks. Aren't I a kind friend?"

Damn it! Shodam grumbled. What Cyton said was true. He was saved, but the demon army's prestige had truly been belittled by Cyton. This time, he had truly won. Shodam clenched his fists, admitting defeat.

However, Shodam had no choice but to obey the monster army.

"Come on, attack that human with your three remaining strongest attacks, Shodam! Destroy him, don't make this show boring!"

Cyton laughed, followed by his troops, utterly insulting Shodam.

"And you humans, don't you dare resist, just endure Shodam's attacks. If you can survive three attacks, then I will free all your friends! And all humans and elves, you must not interfere. If you move, I will destroy this girl!"

Cyton's laughter echoed, followed by his entire army; they found this a truly exciting show.

No! The monsters were indeed terrible. The team Aeera had condemned all that Cyton and his troops had done.

Damn it!

Kenan closed his eyes for a moment. A profound understanding arose from all this, everything that had happened in his life. The root of all his problems and everything he had been through. Now, he understood everything. No matter where he was, the power and selfishness of creatures were the problem. They wanted to be stronger, more recognized, and felt arrogant about it.

Kenan opened his eyes and looked up at the sky.

No matter where he was... There would be evil people. This time, Kenan understood. His mother, who had always supported and loved him. Kenan imagined his mother's face, her face smiling amidst the clouds.

Mother... I will be strong. I promise you, if I still have time, I will make you smile. I will never let your tears fall again. And now... Kenan will face all the troubles in Aeera's world. If Kenan can face all this. Kenan will come home...

Yes, I will come home. Kenan thought to himself. He had already made up his mind. This wasn't his world; Kenan had to return.

But before all that, Kenan had to save Aeera and his world. Right!

Kenan smiled again and again; he was a hero now. So, don't ever expect a hero to return home before winning.

"Why are you laughing? Do you realize that your death is near!" shouted Cyton in astonishment.

"Just start the attack. I will hold him back, you ugly monster! You're like a giraffe that hasn't eaten all day!"

"What did you say!" Cyton was furious, "Shodam! Attack him with your strongest attack. Three attacks, and that will determine whether you deserve the one item I promised!"

Shodam looked furious, once again being ordered around by the monster. How annoying.

Powerful energy flared in his right hand, black flames blazing throughout his body. His Ultimate was ready, and he was furious, ready to unleash it on the long-haired man who had destroyed his entire army.

"Everyone, I will definitely survive. You all stay still and let me finish Shodam's three attacks! Trust me."

Kenan reassured his friends and smiled, his last glance at Aeera, who was shedding tears. Kenan smiled and raised his hand, his thumb pointing at Aeera.

"Trust me, I'm fine."

Shodam couldn't take it anymore; his ultimate attack was unleashed. Energy surged from his three-meter-tall body. He was the smallest for Shodam, and his power had already reached its peak. His two horns lit up.

"Die, human!"

Shodam clenched his fist, the energy expanding and shooting full force toward Kenan in midair. Kenan used the energy in his hand, blocking the attack with his remaining divine mana.

God! Now I understand. You created this world for me, so I can learn.

Light flashed in front of Kenan, his eyes seeing the powerful light of Shodam's blow.

BOOM!

The thin barrier of energy cracked, and Kenan could no longer withstand it. The shield shattered.

CRACK!

The energy barrier shattered, and Shodam's punch struck Kenan's head with full force. The attack sent Kenan crashing to the ground with a powerful impact, making the earth tremble. The earth shook.

Princess Kalya wanted to move to help, but she knew that if she did, Aeera would be in danger. The man had sacrificed himself to save them all. None of them could do it. Rasya and Rania could only tremble, helpless. They were all helpless as Kenan was crushed and hit the ground, smoke billowing out. They waited, recovering their strength, hoping for a miracle,e and they would act immediately.

A giant crater formed, and the smoke began to thin. Everyone waited.

There was a small movement, Kenan gripping the ground, and he struggled to get up. Blood dripped from his hand. Kenan smiled, "I can still hold on."

The torture he had endured at school had tormented him for too long; he was used to pain. However, this time the pain was quite severe. Kenan stood back up.

"Come on, Shodam, you still have two slots left. Are your punches like ant-smashing?" Kenan smiled again, looked at his friends, and nodded.

Was that a code?

Shodam was angry; this time, humiliated again by a human. Previously humiliated by Cyton. Shodam couldn't accept that he had to attack with full force again.

Energy overflowed from Shodam's body. He conjured his energy hammer again, the weapon formed from energy.

"Don't call me Shodam if I can't destroy your body, you arrogant human!"

The sky darkened, and the hammer's energy filled with fiery power. The energy from the sky engulfed Shodam's weapon. He struck from above, striking Kenan, who was standing on the ground like a meteor.

Kenan used his remaining energy to create a barrier. This time, Kenan would bet on being able to withstand Shodam's second attack.

"Be destroyed!"

WOSH! The wind blew fiercely and violently.

The energy hammer attack came, and Kenan blocked it. A clash of energies ensued.

BOOOOOMM!

The hammer continued to press deeper into Kenan's barrier, pushing deeper and deeper, until the barrier finally shattered. The hammer grew larger and struck Kenan in the stomach. Kenan was thrown with such force, bouncing off the ground, creating explosions everywhere it hit. Kenan's body hit a rock, and the hill exploded.

BOOOOMMM!

All eyes were on the scene; Aeera's team couldn't take it anymore. They saw Lord Kalandra being tortured, especially Aeera, who couldn't hold back her tears.

"Lord Kalandra!" Aeera couldn't hold back her voice.

Was the summoning over?

Ha... ha... ha... Cyton laughed in satisfaction.

Shodam began to catch his breath; he'd expended a great deal of energy. Even the energy from the demon pill was beginning to erode his body. He couldn't hold back his demonic power any longer.

The atmosphere was quiet, a gentle breeze making the atmosphere as calm as a tranquil river.

BOOM!

The calm ended, and Kenan reappeared from the ruins of the hill. He looked down and held his right hand, which appeared injured. He floated in the air again, his body covered in wounds.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, skinny buffalo! Didn't you say that if your attack failed, don't summon Shodam? I'll summon you, skinny buffalo! Ha... ha... ha..!"

No way!
