Legend of the Lightning Strike

33. Hope of Becoming King

Barsha walked through the barren, scorching desert. The sun was scorching. Regardless of her condition, Barsha had to find a way out of this place. Last time, Barsha only felt like she was still in Dompai, and an energy explosion had occurred.

Barsha continued walking. The wind in the desert was hot and whipped up the soft sand, making it difficult to see.

Keep going!

So Barsha kept walking. She had to keep going. Barsha was known as a strong woman who could do anything on her own. Everyone knew Barsha as independent and capable of doing anything well. On the continent of Denad, Barsha was a great hope for the glory and popularity of the Assassins on the continent of Denad.

Crack!

A crack appeared in the sand, the sand moving as if something was writhing beneath the ground. The crack continued to grow, heading towards Barsha. Barsha quickly jumped back. The crack was enormous, and a long object emerged from the sand.

As they climbed, the figure that emerged was perfect from its feet to its back. It was a cockroach the size of a house. Not just one; several other large creatures emerged around it. There was a centipede with numerous, disgusting legs. There was a large snake with large scales and sharp eyes.

These large creatures emerged from the sand, dozens of them. This was what Barsha feared most. However, she never showed her fear. She was afraid of disgusting creatures. Now, they appeared, enormous, and the hairs on their legs made Barsha want to vomit.

Several giant cockroaches advanced, their numerous legs disgusting to Barsha. They lunged forward and attacked Barsha.

Why was this happening to her?

Barsha suppressed the nausea in her stomach and moved quickly, weaving at high speed to avoid the attacks of the giant cockroaches. The giant cockroaches took turns attacking Barsha from her right and left. From above, a centipede with giant pincers and numerous legs attacked from above the cockroach. Slamming towards Barsha, Barsha felt disgusted again as she quickly rolled to avoid the centipede's attack.

As he was a little further away and prepared to rise, she remained sitting. However, from in front of her, a snake with a protruding tongue swooped down swiftly towards her.

Hissssssss!

Barsha pushed her body away, placing force on her footing, and flew high into the air, avoiding the giant snake's attack. While in the air, two giant cockroaches lunged and leaped from the ground, attacking Barsha. Barsha was enraged by this situation, disgusted by these creatures.

The other Heavenly Troop participants were in similar circumstances. Nagada also experienced a strange situation. Nagada was sitting quietly on the throne. Suddenly, he found himself sitting on the throne, where the kingdom under his father's rule was located.

Sitting as king? This was his father's hope; he wanted Nagada to train diligently. He would strive to win the hearts of the people so that they would respect and obey him when he ascended the throne. However, in that kingdom, power and influence were everything.

A king could not appoint his son as king after he abdicated. The prince had to gain the support of eight royal advisors and win the hearts of the majority of the people. However, he was now seated on the throne.

Nagada looked left and right. Several guards were standing ready with their weapons, and several ministers were seated. The ministers were on the left and right sides of the path in front of the throne.

Was he already king?

"Bang!"

The front entrance, far from the throne, seemed to have been forced open. A man kicked the door hard, his face fierce, and a sly, condescending grin on his lips.

He was Toda. Nagada's own uncle, his father's younger brother, had long sought the throne for himself.

"Get off the throne, you brat!"

Toda's shout made Nagada's chest tremble. How could his uncle, Toda, have the audacity to oust him from the throne? What was happening?

"I am carrying out my father's mandate, Uncle. I will be the king and bring prosperity to our people," Nagada tried to explain to his uncle, so that he wouldn't speak carelessly.

Toda's smile deepened. He stepped forward, striding with arrogance. His steps seemed to be designed to belittle his nephew. As Toda took eight steps through the door, several elderly figures followed him in, in pairs.

They were two of the eight royal advisors. After the two elderly men entered, another pair followed. They were also royal advisors, meaning there were four advisors behind Toda.

As Toda continued walking, two more pairs appeared, followed by several others who followed behind the eight advisors. They looked like commoners, as their clothes were the ordinary clothes worn by ordinary people.

Nagada's eyes widened. The eight advisors were on his uncle's side. This meant that the advisors were mostly pointing to his uncle. Therefore, he had no right to be king, and he would disappoint his father's hopes.

"Get down, boy!"

Toda's shout deafened Nagada again. Nagada trembled in the room. He was at a loss for what to do. He wanted to be a wise king and bring prosperity to his people, just as his father had fought for.

Meanwhile, Nagada knew that Toda had always been eyeing the kingship because he was greedy and only cared about his own well-being.

"No, sir, I am the true king!" Nagada shouted, standing up from his seat.

"Fool! What do you think you can do if the eight advisors don't support you and the people don't want you to be king? I am the king the people want, and the eight advisors have blessed me! Ha... ha... ha..."

Toda's laughter made Nagada clench his fists. He was angry and refused to accept his uncle's recognition. He charged forward, overcome with emotion, charging with all his might, hurtling towards his uncle.

Bang!

The sword strike, imbued with blazing fire energy, struck his uncle, Toda. However, the eight advisors had already created a powerful barrier to protect Toda from Nagada's attack.

The attack collided with the advisors' barrier. The attacks continued with a continuous barrage of magical power. Nagada continued to attack with the power of his sword, one, two, and then another.

Nagada tried to destroy the barrier. However, the combined power of the eight advisors' barrier was so strong that Nagada's attacks were simply deflected and lost their reflection. The barrier was incredibly sturdy.

By fighting and defeating Uncle Toda, would Nagada be able to become king and retain his throne?

Indeed! Strength was everything. If Nagada tried his best to overcome his uncle's arrogance, he would be able to earn the title of king and be recognized by his people.

Strength was everything. Whoever was strong would be king!

That was what Nagada understood now. He took a few steps back, ready to strike again. Never mind the 8 advisors who acted as shields for his uncle; if necessary, all of them would be destroyed by Nagada.

Nagada spun his sword to create a circle of energy with fully formed magic power. Nagada is the owner of a powerful sword and magic. He was a source of pride for his family and was predicted to become a strong king who could bring prosperity to his people.

That was his family's big hope. On Nagada's shoulders is the burden of being the successor to his family.

He wanted to bring great revival and glory to his kingdom. This kingdom will be brought with brilliance and become the kingdom that oversees all leadership on the Orpris continent.

Nagada's kingdom was the only major kingdom in the city of Prisma, located on the continent of Orpris.

He would not allow it to fall into the hands of his greedy uncle!

Energy swirled like a hurricane, swirling above Nagada's sword. He would crush anyone who stood in his way to becoming king, even the eight royal advisors.

"Magic Wind!"

Nagada swung his sword forward. A powerful, swirling wind of energy swirled and charged toward the eight advisors, who were still erecting their barriers with their combined might.

The swirling wind seemed to devour everything in its path, crushing it into a mass of wind. Lightning flashed within the mass of wind, and a thunderous roar echoed.

Nagada unleashed all his might. The wind was filled with such dense energy that it would destroy anything in its path. The advisors bolstered their strength by preparing a powerful barrier to repel Nagada's attack.

Behind them, Toda continued to smile sarcastically, as if Nagada's power would be futile against the eight advisors now on his side.

"I am the true king, my nephew! Just surrender and obey me!"

Toda's shout made Nagada even more furious, as the wind attack surged and rolled forward. Nagada drew his sword back and launched himself with full force, following the swirling wind. He thrust the tip of his sword straight forward, straight at Toda. As the advisors blocked his wind energy attack, he had an opening to finish Toda off in a swift strike.

"HIIIIIIIAAAAA!"

Nagada thought, this was the only way to become king and fulfill his father's wishes.
