Legend of the Lightning Strike
60. Warrior Jiro vs. Aji
Dompai was temporarily closed at the request of warrior Jiro. Jiro directly submitted the request to the head of Dompai. The head of Dompai granted it, especially since it was a special request from warrior Jiro.
The Dompai Guardian simply assumed that warrior Jiro was training a special figure, a member of the Heavenly Troops, named Aji. He must be special for Jiro to want to train him alone in the Dompai room.
Aji's colleagues were surprised that warrior Jiro would accept the offer of a one-on-one sparring match. Aji, a new member of the Heavenly Troops, had even temporarily closed the Dompai room. This was truly extraordinary for them. Surely, inside Dompai, Aji would receive special instruction from warrior Jiro.
It was a dream for any young warrior to receive special instruction from warrior Jiro.
Warrior Jiro and Aji entered the training room inside Dompai. The wall Aji had destroyed appeared to have been completely repaired, and the barrier array had been reinstalled. Weapons and artifacts were neatly arranged on the weapon racks. Warrior Jiro looked at the sturdy young man.
"I knew you were different, warrior. I respect young warriors like you. One day, you will carry on the struggle of our elders in defending the truth," Warrior Jiro smiled.
Aji stared into the eyes of the man in his 30s. He sensed that the man before him was a reflection of the Thunder Striker of the past. However, this man was humble and understanding toward all warriors. Unlike the former, who was selfish and kept to himself, and never had a single disciple in his life.
Aji saluted, "May I ask for something if I can defeat you, Master Jiro?"
Warrior Jiro showed no expression. He was now nearly 40 years old, yet this was the first time a young man had dared to suggest that he might defeat him. Jiro himself had traveled the world and continued to train, visiting with old warriors from every continent seeking instruction. Even Dasatama, who was a role model and recognized as the number one warrior on the entire continent, might currently be on par with him. Then, this young man asked him for something if he could defeat him.
Was he joking? Or was it his strong confidence?
Jiro smiled, "You're a confident young man. Who is your teacher, Aji?"
"Forgive me, Master Jiro, I can't tell you. But if we compete, perhaps you can find out who my teacher is."
"Interesting, very well. I'll grant any request you make if you can defeat me. I'm truly happy today. But remember, I won't lower my attack power now that we're in Dompai."
Indeed, Dompai had been given a barrier in the form of a high-level array powered by the power of many array masters. Even a powerful attack would have difficulty penetrating the barrier from within Dompai.
"Very well, we have a deal."
"Take a weapon if you feel like using one, Aji," offered Warrior Jiro.
"No need for Warrior Jiro."
The two stared at each other, and a moment later, a clash of energy erupted from their bodies like angry winds colliding with each other. Warrior Jiro himself was shocked by the power of the young man's energy, now realizing that the young man truly possessed strong confidence in his strength.
The intense pressure from Aji even made Warrior Jiro feel pressured. Aji had forced Warrior Jiro to exert his full strength.
Woohoo!
"You won't know without a fistfight," that had been Warrior Jiro's motto all along. He charged at full speed, his maximum power. He felt that the young man before him deserved his strongest and fastest attack.
Warrior Jiro's punch was so fast it was hard to follow, and in an instant, he was in front of Aji. The punch was aimed at Aji's body. "Am I overreacting?" Warrior Jiro was shocked, as his attack would have only been a split second before hitting Aji, and it would have been destroyed by his maximum power. It was difficult to draw such immense power.
Swoosh! Woosh!
His punch struck the empty body, and the body suddenly vanished. Was that a shadow technique? It was the Ghost Speed technique that a legend had once taught him. How could that be?
An instant later, the energy figure was behind Jiro. Realizing this, Jiro turned around with his speed. Jiro's punch rebounded swiftly, sending Aji leaping backward. His leap was light, yet far and fast, keeping him at a distance from Jiro's swift attack.
The two exchanged glances again. "You've mastered Ghost Speed, truly remarkable. A young man like you can even escape my swift attack. Your teacher must have taught you well," Jiro praised with genuine sincerity.
Jiro prepared his power again, this time seemingly moving both hands, and magical energy from his palms gushed out, emitting a torrent of energy. It was a high-speed, endless, and constantly emerging attack. A strong and stable energy was a skill Jiro excelled at.
From the corner of his eye, Aji formed a circle with both hands. He formed a barrier that protected his body, not only in front of him, but like a balloon that enveloped his entire body, even piercing through the floor of Dompai.
Aji seemed to be immersed in the barrier itself, and a barrage of attacks continued to batter him. Jiro's warriors continued their attacks, and explosions of smoke and energy erupted continuously. Jiro maintained his strength, bombarding Aji's body with his magic.
This was impossible? How could such a comprehensive barrier be formed in such a short time? There would surely be a weakness if continuously attacked, and the barrier would collapse from the sustained and powerful attacks.
Jiro's warriors felt fortunate to have learned about circles from powerful magicians across the continent. His abilities were even at rank 7, which was extremely high for any circle user, and he could blend with and absorb natural energy well.
Jiro's intensely trained physical body would certainly be able to accommodate the power of nature well. He felt it would be enough to break the barrier created by the young man; now it was a matter of who could withstand the attacks and the energy they could sustain best. Thirty minutes passed, and Jiro's attacks could continue for a considerable amount of time. Unfortunately, he sensed that the young man possessed strong barrier resistance and had even created a powerful array. It was at least a level 7 or 8 array that could withstand even his powerful attacks.
Just like the array created for Dompai, Jiro's attacks, focused on him, didn't even dent Aji's defensive barrier array. If he continued any further, Jiro might become exhausted from using too much natural energy.
Jiro ended his energy attack. Aji also dispelled the energy barrier surrounding his entire body. They stared at each other again, their speed and magic already in full swing.
This time, it was a test of physical strength. Jiro felt more experienced in physical strength. He had trained his physique since childhood and was considered a genius for his physical strength.
This time, he felt the upper hand and charged forward with his physical strength. Aji smiled, ready to welcome him.
