Naura's Tears

29. Your Presence is Important

Sunday arrived, and for some reason, Diandra was in a very happy mood. The morning's preparations were complete, and Diandra was carrying her bag. Aunt Jamilah didn't forget to invite her. Diandra actually wanted to go alone and not be a bother. However, her parents asked that Diandra accompany them because they loved Diandra too much. So, Aunt Jamilah went along.

They arrived at Adam's village that afternoon. When they went to Adam's house, he wasn't there, having already left for Kenanga Lake. Aunt Jamilah stayed at home to help Mrs. Halimah.

Diandra set off alone. There was a new motorcycle at Adam's house, while Adam rode his old one. Diandra's heart grew even more excited as she headed towards Kenanga Lake. Was this also how Adam felt when he was swept away by his love for Naura?

For Diandra, Adam was the first man outside her family who had captured her heart. Not because of his looks, but because of his character, strong will, and sincerity.

The journey made Diandra's heart flutter even more, until she stopped the motorcycle and arrived at a tree under which Adam was writing something on a piece of paper. Adam faced the lake, holding a pen, and occasionally lifted his head to look at the water, seemingly searching for inspiration.

Diandra slowly walked over, wanting to surprise him. Slowly and steadily, she approached him, approaching him, until she was only five meters away. She didn't want to make any noise, and she didn't want to step on any dry leaves, making her steps completely inaudible.

"You think I didn't notice you, Diandra?" Diandra heard Adam's voice. Although he didn't turn around, she knew she'd been spotted. However, Diandra herself was surprised how he had detected her presence, even though she had hidden herself so well.

"Oh, Adam," Diandra tiptoed towards him, walking over and sitting directly next to him. "How did you know I was here? Didn't I hide my presence well?"

Adam stopped staring at the lake and turned to Diandra, "Because..." Suddenly, he stopped talking. For some reason, his gaze was fixated on the beautiful face before him. Diandra's beautiful eyes and appearance truly surprised and captivated him.

Indeed, Diandra had surprised him. She covered her hair with a light blue headscarf. Her hair was no longer flowing in the strong winds by the lake. Her crowning glory was now replaced by a dazzling, eternal veil. Diandra's face glowed, and Adam smiled and stopped short of his sentence.

"Am I beautiful, Adam?" Diandra curiously asked Adam.

Adam paused for a moment, "Really, Diandra, all creatures on this earth would answer the same: you are indeed beautiful, even like an angel. Why do you ask a question you shouldn't be asking?"

Diandra just shook her head, "We are Adam, you really can't seduce women. Women like sweet words, but you're said to be a poet, why are you so indifferent to women?"

Adam laughed at Diandra's answer. The more irritated he became, the more spoiled and attractive she seemed. Perhaps that's what a woman is, able to melt a man and make him fall. A man's temptation is indeed a woman; with a woman, a man can become noble or, conversely, despicable if he becomes a slave to love. Adam stood up and took two steps toward the edge of the lake, gazing at the calm waters. "Remember, Diandra, not all men are the same. Like the sky, sometimes clear and sometimes cloudy. There are always two sides to it. Most men give up on being real men. They give in and become slaves to women and love. Meanwhile, I choose to fight to restrain myself from the temptations of women. For me, chastity is everything for both men and women who are unmarried."

Adam's words were true. Diandra studied human psychology in this modern era. Indeed, many men and women prioritize their lust and love secondarily. Love seems to become a scapegoat for their lust.

"Okay, okay, Kyai, now back to our previous topic. How did you know I was coming when you didn't see me? Tell me honestly, or I won't be able to sleep well tonight."

Adam laughed again.

"You're like an angel who's come... your presence is powerful enough to drown out the presence of others. So, even if you hide, I'll find you, Diandra."

This time, Diandra's cheeks were truly red. She was truly embarrassed. This time, she was being seduced by Adam.

"You're seducing me now, Adam. Did you do that with Naura, too? Did you like seducing her too?"

Diandra's question came out of the blue, rekindling her curiosity, and the timing was certainly not perfect.

"I'm sorry, Adam, I didn't mean to..."

"It's okay, Diandra. That was a story from the past; I wouldn't have met you. Everything is a destiny that has been determined for us; now it's just a matter of how we live this moment and this day. Right, Diandra?" Adam smiled at Diandra.

Diandra smiled, "You're right, Adam. Otherwise, we wouldn't have met. And why are you so confident in motivating others by doing your best right now? So... what have you been working on this week? Tell me."

Diandra challenged Adam. She herself had prepared several business maps, ready to discuss with her brother, Elfan. So, she was sure she had done a lot.

"Okay, okay..." Adam sat back down and showed him a large amount of paper. It looked so much, clipped and marked. Diandra was stunned by the sheer number of sheets. What had this man prepared?

"What are you doing with all this paper, Adam? I'm already dizzy just reading it."

"Ha... Ha... Ha..." Adam laughed heartily, making Diandra's frown reappear. A woman's frowning face was indeed pleasing to men, and Adam was no different. When women are upset and frowning, that's when men seem to be happiest because a frowning woman means they need attention, and only men can calm them down. Adam showed them each a piece of paper. From the beginning, the location map for each of the seven people who owned the blocks along the edge of Kenanga Lake had been completed, and could be Adam's. The total was 30 hectares, a very large area, and the blocks were all in one place, not isolated and complete. Everything was in one place and could be freed.

Regarding money, Adam had completely exhausted his savings, except for a small amount. He probably only had around 100 million rupiah left from his savings, which people had given him as gifts for his tear medicine.

Adam had also asked his mother's permission, and Mrs. Halimah agreed that, for the sake of Adam's happiness and wishes, he would not care about the money. The journey from now on became easier for Adam and Diandra.

Adam opened another piece of paper after everyone had been freed. Adam showed a business map he had designed, with building drawings and sketches. There was a picture of a camp or language village where children and adults could learn Indonesian, English, and Arabic. The camp covered half a hectare to the left, before Kenanga Lake. In addition to the language camp, Adam also showed a picture of a hotel with a green construction, or natural architecture. Guests staying there can enjoy a positive cultural atmosphere, providing inspiration and a sense of calm from the stress of their daily work.

Adam explained that the hotel is a sharia-compliant hotel, where couples must prove they are married.

Adam also pointed out the potential for natural tourism, such as wild fishing. A gazebo or shaded area will be built for those who want to fish in the lake.

A small mosque will also be built around the lake. In other areas that Adam has already cleared, housing will certainly be developed in the future, as the map he created indicates that residents will find comfortable living spaces. Adam will likely start with Diandra's suggestion that approximately two hectares be developed into minimalist housing, hoping that they will become early residents and attract attention for free advertising.

Their data converged, and Diandra's proposal included the development of a children's tourism project, a water bomb, and a complete flower tourism project so people would come and take selfies. Flower and fruit seedlings would be sold there.

Diandra also mentioned the mini-mall that was ready to be built, along with a semi-enclosed sports area for people to exercise. A multi-purpose building was also being built that could be rented for weddings and other events.

The lake itself would be equipped with boats for those who wanted to explore the water, and there would also be a market in the middle of the lake.

Once again, Adam was impressed by Diandra's many brilliant ideas. Unfortunately, Adam was now a bit lost in thought. The construction costs, of course, had already been spent on land acquisition.

"Don't worry, Adam. I told you, you take care of the land, and I'll handle the rest."

"But..." Adam knew that this venture couldn't prioritize profit alone, but rather long-term goals, tourism, serving many people,e and, of course, inspiring the public to believe that Kenanga Lake is a beautiful place. "I told you, don't worry. We'll work together to make this place a tourist attraction and a business. The basis is serving others and, of course, sharing happiness with others."

They smiled at each other and agreed! They had agreed to this collaboration. This was also a major project for Diandra; she had already asked her father's permission, and he had fully agreed. Hamid would provide whatever money was needed for everything. Of course, Hamid would provide a special consultant to ensure their plan went smoothly.

They both smiled and then looked out over the beauty of Kenanga Lake. Its clear waters and refreshing breezes made them both happy.

"Adam, what are we going to name this place?"

Sure enough, Adam had only just thought of it after Diandra's question. A name should be attached to everything they were going to do; everything would be under one management, with all its details.

"Do you have any suggestions, Diandra?"

Diandra looked at Adam, who was still gazing at Kenanga Lake. "I'll follow the name you choose, Adam. It doesn't matter what name you choose, even if you choose Naura."

Adam was a little surprised and looked at Diandra's face. What a noble woman, the edge of her hijab blowing in the gentle breeze. Adam turned to look at the lake, freshness enveloping him, and his eyes filled with beauty.

"Okay, how about we name it Heaven's Spring?"

The breeze blew again, quite strong for the day.

"That's a nice name. Let's get everything ready. We'll start with promotions and construction preparations. I'll have the money transferred tomorrow, and a consultant from the capital, sent by my father, will surely come. We'll build Heaven's Spring here, Adam!"

Their eyes met, and smiles crossed their faces.

It's true, Diandra, your presence is a gift from God. And that's very important to me. I will at least rise up for anyone who believes in me. However, as for matters of love or anything related to family, I haven't thought about it yet. That was a quiet signal in Adam's heart.

Likewise, Diandra didn't care how Adam felt. The comfort of being near him was enough to soothe his heart.

Their story would unfold eventually, who knows how it would end. They simply believed in carrying it out with sincerity and patience. Let fate handle all their affairs.

The next day, construction began. Several workers from Adam's village began work, clearing the areas that needed to be cleared because they would be affected by the construction project.

For areas that would be needed for reforestation, some trees were not cut down. Trees were felled, holes filled, and land preparation had to be expedited for the next mapping process.

Bricks began arriving, and building materials, such as iron and other materials, were brought in from Adam's own shop, managed by Syarif. Syarif even delivered the goods Adam had ordered. He wanted to personally inspect the mega-project Adam and Diandra would be building.

Even though tomorrow was Syarif's wedding day, he still didn't care. The wedding was already arranged, and he had to work all day except tomorrow. Adam scolded him for staying home; he was Syarif, so how could he care?

Syarif inspected the land leveling process; the excavator was already working to level the ground. Furthermore, the beauty of Kenanga Lake would remain untouched, only to be enhanced by the mere addition of beauty to make people feel at home.

"Heavenly Spring Project."

Syarif read the large banner displayed at the entrance to all the land Adam had acquired. He smiled at the sight; this would surely be great in the end. He believed Adam was tenacious and diligent, and that was evident again after his illness.

"Adam, I'll take my leave. Remember one thing: don't overdo it, and take care of your health," Syarif said, preparing to board the delivery truck that had just unloaded the goods ordered from his hardware store.

"Yes, Syarif. We'll be careful, we'll go straight home. We'll be there tomorrow for your big day."

"Okay, Adam," Syarif started to get into the car, remembering something. "Oh, Diandra!" Syarif glanced at Diandra, who was standing next to Adam.

"What's wrong, Syarif?" Her pink hijab fluttered at the ends, her clean, white face bathed in the sunlight. However, she was wearing a large hat that shielded her face from the sun.

"Please take care of Adam for me. He's hard to talk to when he's focused on his work. Sometimes he forgets to eat!"

Diandra smiled at Syarif. "Don't worry, Syarif! I'll take his mother's place. If he doesn't want to eat, I'll feed him!"

Syarif chuckled. "Okay, I'll go home now. This Heavenly Spring Project must be a success! I have faith in you!"

Syarif left in the van, sitting beside the driver. After Syarif left, Adam and Diandra returned to supervise the workers. They supervised and gave directions so that the land clearing was in accordance with the mapping of the buildings that would be built later.

The day is getting hotter, rest is almost here. Adam also invited Diandra to go home for a while to pray and have lunch at home.
