Naura's Tears
6. Mr. Karta's Strange Dream
Adam was still preoccupied with his fantasies of love, still helpless in his bed. The world went on as usual, leaving Adam in pain and lulled by his illusory love. Fake because they would never meet, fake because fate had separated them.
Fate was not on their side, fate separated hopes, and fate destroyed all hope.
Adam was sick, but his mother, Halimah, was in more pain than anyone. Having carried Adam in her womb, she understood all too well how Adam was currently struggling against his helplessness. However, it would take time. Adam needed strength and the right time to awaken from his helplessness.
While he was trying to reconcile with his soul, his mother and those closest to him had to be patient and wait for him with love. Indeed, only love can heal all feelings, all the pain that has manifested. For this reason, Halimah held back her tears and continued to pray that Adam would soon find his chance to rise again.
Perhaps time would tell. The time would come when Adam would awaken. And that was what Halimah always prayed for. Let Adam regain his confidence and rise from his slump. And Halimah would always wait for the moment when she would hear her son again tell her about the beauty of life.
That was enough for Halimah; the world had slipped out of her hands. All she wanted was Adam's smile, welcoming life, and the days that came his way. A child's happiness is a mother's health. That's what a mother is; no one understands a human better than she.
Adam was still sick, and a man in the village had a hope of meeting him. And from here, the love story that would ignite for Adam began.

In a place in the village also inhabited by Halimah and her son, Adam, who was sick with love. In fact, everyone called him Adam, crazy with love.
A middle-aged man paced back and forth with difficulty. Occasionally, he would sit in a chair and try to think deeply about what he had experienced.
The man struggled to move freely; some parts of his body were injured, restricting his movement, and he was now unable to work or engage in other activities. He felt his life was in turmoil. Just when life required greater expenses, disaster struck.
The man stood up again after sitting for a long time, anxiety still evident in his mind.
He was still pondering what had happened to him over the past few days. Was it something he had to endure, or was it merely a passing coincidence?
However, he reiterated that life truly exists under the control of Allah SWT, the One who rules it all. Therefore, there are no coincidences in this world for those who believe in God. Everything is predetermined by destiny, as written in His book. So, should he believe in the strange guidance he received from his dream?
The middle-aged man walked with difficulty, his cane always accompanying him. From that day on, disaster struck him. He walked with a cane, was no longer able to work, and was reduced to a homebody unable to earn money for his family. However, suddenly, hope seemed to arrive. It was a strange hope. Previously, the man had sought treatment for his leg with traditional medicine, but to no avail. There were additional legs that could be built at a health clinic, but they were incredibly expensive. For a village man like him, that much money would be enough to support himself and his family. So, the man resigned himself to it.
The hope came, but the strange hope, conveyed through a dream, disturbed his thoughts. The man's name was Karta.
Mr. Karta, a village man with a paralyzed right leg. While working as a construction worker, he was building a multi-story house. When he stepped on a support, it broke, and he fell. For three years, Mr. Karta's right leg had been paralyzed due to the pain. He was no longer able to work normally.
And the strange dream came as a clue to a cure for his paralyzed leg. Whether it was true or not, it was this thought that had been bothering Mr. Karta for the past few days.
That night, he had a strange dream. An old man came to him. The old man spoke and said that if he wanted his leg healed, he should take Adam's tears and rub them on his paralyzed leg. Pak Karta awoke from his sleep, thinking about his strange dream.
A strange dream that seemed beyond human comprehension. Dreams are the flower of sleep. But why, on the one hand, would Pak Karta want to try such a strange thing? How could human tears possibly heal a permanent illness or wound like the one he was experiencing?
It simply didn't make sense!
But on the other hand, how much Pak Karta longed to recover from his illness and be able to work again and support his family. It was a longing too overwhelming to describe.
The joy of working and earning money, and giving it to his family, was like heaven in this life. He didn't need luxury goods or abundant money; giving back to his family was happiness, and tears were bound to flow when he remembered that.
Pak Karta was lost in thought and confused about what to do after having this strange dream. So, what should he do now? It really made him unable to think straight. He was torn between believing and not believing, between wanting to be cured and not being able to make sense of it.
Adam, who had been rumored to be mad with love, had been curled up like a sick man for a year, and when Sunday arrived, he would walk like a man about to meet his lover. Only a smile was visible on his face, and only Naura was mentioned in his words.
His tears? Did a man like that have tears when he was a madman who only loved Naura and was helpless to face reality? But... the desire to be cured and his dreams continued to haunt his mind.
His strange dream, the healing tears that could heal his leg. Ah! Pak Karta almost threw the cane he was holding. Surely it was just a dream; why think so much about it? How could Adam's tears possibly heal his leg? Were there tears in the world of myths that could heal wounds? They were merely entertainment for those tired of life.
Then... Pak Karta finally tried to forget it, refusing to be lulled into an uncertain dream. Expecting too much can lead to endless pain, ultimately leading to resignation and becoming a lifelong dreamer.
Mr. Karta forgot about it and moved on with his life, surrendering to God for his paralysis. He tried to accept his condition, and that the hope of recovery was now just a distant memory. However, deep down, he longed to try Adam's tears.
