The Cheating System: From Construction Worker to Royal Hero
15. The Coronation & The Reward
The main hall of Eudor had transformed completely. The remnants of the wreckage had been cleared away by workers overnight, replaced by a long red carpet and arrangements of fragrant white lilies. The atmosphere inside the hall was deeply solemn, filled with the remaining nobles, cheering citizens packed outside the palace grounds, and guards standing tall in freshly polished armor.
At the far end of the hall, upon a newly repaired throne—reinforced with a few technical suggestions from Raga to ensure a much sturdier foundation—Naria sat wearing a shimmering silver crown. She looked far more graceful and formidable than she had when they first crossed paths in the forest.
Raga stood beside Grom, wearing his absolute best laborer’s attire—which still looked thoroughly dingy no matter how hard it had been scrubbed clean. He gazed up at Naria, struggling to fight off an overwhelming wave of exhaustion after two full days without sleep.
"Princess—I mean, Her Majesty the Queen," Grom whispered with a stage whisper meant for half the room. "She looks breathtakingly gorgeous, doesn't she?"
Raga offered a brief nod. "Yeah, she fits right in up there. I reckon the throne's structural load capacity is secure enough now."
As the coronation ceremony reached its peak, Naria stood up. The entire hall fell dead silent. She looked toward Raga, her gaze carrying a deep intensity that made him slightly fidgety.
"Today, Eudor is reborn," Naria’s voice rang out, firm and commanding. "And this triumph could never have been achieved without the aid of a man who traveled from a distant world. A man who taught me that true strength isn't just about wielding a sword, but about perseverance and hard work."
Naria gestured to the guards. Two soldiers stepped forward, carrying a massive oak chest trimmed with pure gold ornaments carved with royal lily motifs. The heavy chest was set down right in front of Raga with a dull, heavy thud.
Raga swallowed hard. His heart hammered faster than it had when facing a squad of rebel cavalrymen. He slowly unlatched the chest. A dazzling golden light burst forth, blinding everyone in the hall. Inside, neat stacks of pure gold coins and precious jewels rested in orderly rows, easily enough to let Raga retire from the construction industry for the rest of his life.
"This," Naria stepped down from the throne, stopping right in front of Raga. "As I promised. Not merely as payment, but as a token of gratitude from the people of Eudor to their savior."
Raga reached out and touched the coins with trembling hands. This was it. The money that would free him from debt. The money that would transport him back to his cramped rented room on the outskirts of Jakarta, where he could finally buy a plush mattress and stop hauling bags of cement forever.
Suddenly, Raga’s vision distorted as a neon-blue system interface blinked into existence right before his eyes. S.I.N.I.’s sarcastic mechanical voice rang loudly inside his skull.

Raga gasped. "Wait! Right now? I didn't even get to properly say goodbye!"
"Raga?" Naria looked at him in confusion. "What's wrong?"
Raga looked back at Naria. In her eyes, he saw a sovereign with a bright, secure future, miles away from Vallen's tyranny. A profound sense of relief washed over him, though a strange, lingering heaviness settled in his chest.
"I have to go, Naria," Raga whispered. "My job here is done. My contract... has expired."
Naria fell silent, her eyes widening slightly. She looked as though she wanted to hold him back, yet she knew this man belonged to another world. "I understand. Thank you... for everything, Raga."
Raga offered a faint smile, then patted Grom's shoulder one last time. "Foreman Grom, look after the kingdom. Don't let anyone build walls with subpar cement mixes ever again!"
Grom laughed, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Don't you worry, Foreman! I'm going to be the toughest site inspector in all of Eudor!"
Raga’s body began to glow with the same golden radiance that had brought him here. The chest of gold in front of him began to dissolve, transforming into sparkling particles of light absorbed directly by the system.
"Farewell, Queen Naria," Raga murmured right before the light swallowed him whole.
The next second, the majestic palace hall vanished. The cheers of Eudor's citizens were instantly replaced by the blaring honks of Jakarta traffic, the acrid stench of vehicle exhaust, and the familiar, dusty hum of a city construction site.
