Legend of the Lightning Strike
15. Is He Still Alive?
Prisma City was bustling as the center of the Orpris continent. Moreover, this place served as the center for all the trials to become Heavenly Troopers. White warriors from all over the continent flocked to take the test. Both commoners and nobles came to watch and support the warriors.
This was because the warriors being recruited for the Heavenly Troopers would serve as the primary shield if the dark forces came and attempted to rule the world once again.
The movements of the dark forces had already been discovered by intelligence agencies across the continent. Their movements were quite subtle and difficult to handle.
Aji sat alone at a table in a crowded restaurant, ordering his food. Aji kept thinking that joining the Heavenly Troopers was not a mistake. With the authority of the Heavenly Troopers, it would be easy to gather warriors who could help defeat the Demon Lord's forces.
Aji was reminded of the sacrifices of Ganada and Yonan, who had given their lives to defend against the Demon Lord. The Demon Lord himself was currently absorbing the power of thousands of bloodlines, or sacrificing thousands of bloodlines. They captured anyone and absorbed the human blood essence. At that moment, Yonan saw his opportunity before it was too late.
The three of them launched a surprise attack. The Demon Lord hadn't finished absorbing the energy, and he was forced to flee, attacking the three legends.
Yonan and Ganada were ultimately killed, and only the Lightning Striker survived thanks to Yonan's magical barrier. Yonan and Ganada decided that Aji must live and regain his strength to fight the Demon Lord.
Without realizing it, Aji's tears nearly fell, but Aji quickly wiped them away. In his nearly century-long life, Aji had never cried. He had always been mocked by his two companions as a vapid bachelor.
Indeed, Aji had never thought about women in his life. He only practiced archery, martial arts, and enhanced his combat prowess. His one focus was his devastating blow, the Lightning Strike.
"You really don't have any friends?" A woman, Barsha, greeted Aji again, standing at the table.
Aji smiled, "You don't need to ignore me... Aaman entrusted me to watch over you. Ta, I'm more than enough to take care of myself." If you'd like to eat with us, please sit down.”
Annoyed by Aji's arrogance, Barsha sat across from him. Barsha was surprised: there was a man so simple yet so incredibly arrogant. While so many men were pursuing her, this man remained expressionless, even when she attempted to approach him just to observe.
“Aren't you worried about the second test?” Barsha asked again as she ordered a drink.
“No one needs to think about this test until the end,” Aji said firmly and expressionlessly, returning to his meal.
“You must be someone who has just come down from the mountains and seen the wider world. You're overconfident, Aji.”
Aji smiled again, “We don't need to worry about the test; the big issue is whether we can unite the warriors to face the forces of darkness again.”
Barsha was surprised. Was there someone like Aji who didn't think about position, wanting respect and a place and fame in the martial arts world? In fact, the simple answer was to gather the warriors to face the Forces of Darkness.
Barsha also saw something special about Aji. Despite his unassuming appearance and the power of his punch, which had shattered a steel box the other day, Barsha was curious about this young man's true combat prowess. Moreover, Aaman himself had asked him to monitor Aji.
Perhaps his cousin wasn't monitoring him, but rather accompanying him to make it easier for him to enter and pass the Heavenly Army test.
Was this young man before him truly a formidable figure?
"What do you know about the Dark Army, Aji?" Barsha was curious and finally asked.
"I've faced them."
Barsha was shocked to hear this. If he had faced them, how could Aji have survived, and was it believable? Furthermore, her own grandfather, Ganada, had died twenty years ago while battling the Dark Army.
However, Barsha believed that Aji might be facing a division force or simply a subordinate of the Demon Lord.
"Alright... It's up to you. Prepare for the second level of the test; it will definitely be more difficult than the first. Just get ready. We'll meet again tomorrow. Take care of yourself, mountain warrior."
Barsha excused herself from Aji, and Aji watched her back as she left. Aji smiled, truly resembling Ganada. Ganada and Yonan were fortunate; even though they had departed from this world, they had a family. And Aji... who knows, he still couldn't think about family.
Training and training, that's what Aji had been doing all this time. In fact, ever since Yonan's power sealed him and transported his body to an astral realm, unrelated to the physical world. Aji had only been training and training. It was time for him to reappear with a new name, Aji.
Once again, Aji wanted to fight the Demon Lord one-on-one. This time, he couldn't afford to let his guard down any longer, and he had to gather the warriors if he wanted to complete the mission of eliminating the dark forces.
Aji clenched his fists, a little irritated by the Lord Demon incident.
"You've been listening to us all this time. Don't you want to join us?" Aji said without looking at the two people sitting next to him.
The two people were a man and a woman, sitting right next to Aji.
"You seem a little upset, my friend?" A man looked at Aji and smiled. He was of medium build and tall. "Come join my sister at the table."
The man gestured to the woman in front of him. She wore a veil over her head. Her eyes were green and beautiful. Although mysterious, she was very shy.
The two people then moved to sit at the same table as Aji.
"You're after me, aren't you?" Aji looked at the woman; it was Gayatri. Gayatri seemed nervous, being stared at so mysteriously by Aji.
Lao looked at Aji calmly, "Calm down, my friend. We have no ill intentions. We need to build friendships, especially once we graduate from the Heavenly Army. We must be able to unite our mission and strength to destroy the forces of darkness."
Aji turned to Lao, "You're right, I don't see any ill intentions in you either. My name is Aji, and we will work together in the future."
Lao and Gayatri smiled at last, finding an ally who shared the same ideals for the good of the world. Lao and Gayatri introduced themselves, stating that they were from Grayle Village and the Frost Line Continent.
They shared many stories and then opened up to Aji. They came from a remote village and lived alone, except for their teacher, who took them in as his disciples.
Lao and Gayatri's parents were killed by the Dark Army, and they destroyed their village. A teacher adopted them and taught them martial arts, each with their own unique abilities.
"May I ask... who is your teacher? Forgive me if I've been rude."
Lao was already confident in Aji, and the power of his punches was extraordinary.
"His name is Jinho."
Aji was also slightly shocked by the lines on his face. The figure had met Aji, and they had sparred. Aji and Ganada had searched for Jinho for the big battle, but Jinho had disappeared.
"Is he still alive?"
