Naura's Tears
26. Bringing Love to Life
The day was still beautiful, and Adam and Diandra were engaged in a lively conversation about their business partnership. Diandra was curious about what Adam was planning and how he would try to make the business dream he mentioned earlier a reality.
"One more thing, Diandra," Adam interrupted, agreeing with Diandra.
"What is it?"
"The purpose of this business isn't solely to make a profit, but to help people. Well, at least it's both a business and a charity. The environment must also be taken care of so this location stays clean and clean."
Diandra understood, "Okay, that will be our priority. Okay, let's just put together a plan for what you have in mind to build here. Later, I'll add the market and what targets we can achieve."
Adam had never been in business before, so Diandra might be a good business advisor. In fact, Diandra could certainly hire a consultant for the venture.
Adam was now used to talking to Diandra. They sat engrossed in their conversation about their plans. Adam said that Kenanga Lake must remain in its original state and must not be changed. Except for additions to make it more beautiful and comfortable for people to visit. There's also a playground nearby. Any business venture is permitted, as long as it doesn't cause pollution.
Adam will assess the vastness of the land, and he'll see how much can be purchased here. First, he'll check to see who owns the land around the lake. Of course, they'll buy it. Syarif explained this morning that Adam still has over 15 billion rupiah in his savings. All of that will be used for this plan, the plan to bring Kenanga Lake to life.
This beautiful lake is unknown to many. Adam wants to show its beauty to everyone. Everyone can enjoy it, breathe in the cool air, and find love here. Indeed, find love from God.
With every word, Diandra captured everything Adam wanted to achieve. Adam's soul was like an ocean, uncontaminated by the world and its various distractions. There wasn't a spark of deception in his heart; he was a true example of a sincere human being. The pain he had endured all this time hadn't made him dirty. Instead, it had made him brilliant, like the metamorphosis a caterpillar undergoes to become a butterfly.
Indeed. Adam was a beautiful butterfly, which was how Diandra now described him.
They were now business partners, and that afternoon, they were creating a master plan for their business. Adam conveyed what he wanted to be there. He would be the one to find several landowners around the lake and negotiate ownership, while Diandra would consult with consultants and several other people over the next week, and they would meet again to discuss further.
Adam outlined several businesses and what he wanted to have, and Diandra wrote them down, also planning additional businesses and how much land she could purchase.
The cool air began to turn hot. They had been chatting for a while, and they were getting hungry. Diandra offered Adam food; she had prepared lunch and packed it before he went to the lake, and after meeting Naura.
Adam was initially hesitant to eat it; he now needed to learn to eat with his own hands. This morning, he had struggled because his hands were still shaking from his long sleep.
Under constant urging, Adam finally decided to eat, slowly reaching for the food. He struggled and struggled with all his might, still trembling, but finally, he managed to get one mouthful, despite the difficulty.
The food Diandra had brought was simple: tiger prawns and grilled gourami. It was enough to make your tongue wag and your stomach growl. Adam tried again, but this time his hands suddenly felt weak, and the spoon fell to the ground.
Adam tried to pick up his spoon, which had fallen onto the chair. "I'm sorry... I made your lunch uncomfortable."
Diandra immediately took the spoon and set it aside behind her. "It's noon, let me feed you. I'm your best friend, aren't I? Thanks to you, I know the beauty of this colorful world." Diandra's smile couldn't move Adam's lips; he obeyed, unable to refuse.
Diandra's hand moved to pick up the rice and the small shrimp side dish she had cut, and held it out to Adam's lips. Adam opened his mouth and ate it slowly.
Diandra was very happy this time, her eyes sparkling as she watched Adam willingly eat her mouthful. She hadn't expected that the man who had been bedridden for years would now eat and recover. Like herself, she had been blind since childhood and could now see anything she wanted.
"Do you feel sorry for me, Diandra?"
Adam's sudden question startled Diandra. She herself was at a loss for words, and her lips were even speechless for a long time, remaining silent as if letting the question simply drift away with the wind, never to be heard again.
"Do you want to repay me?"
Adam's second question also made Diandra unable to remain silent. Her lips remained numb, unsure of what was going on inside her. She was at a loss for words; she wanted to speak but was afraid of lying. However, to be honest, she couldn't comprehend what she was doing.
"Adam..." Diandra's eyes met his, "I can't answer all your questions right now. I can't answer them myself because they're questions I'm asking myself. Give me time, this time everything I do is based on my own physical movements. I don't even understand what I'm doing.
Maybe one day I'll find the answer. Once I do, I'll tell you."
The two were silent again. However, Diandra quickly regained control and took some more food and fed it to Adam. Adam didn't ask any more questions; he simply ate the food she offered him. Before he knew it, he'd eaten enough to fill his stomach.
Previously, his mother had only fed him three bites, and Adam usually wouldn't eat anymore. His stomach was very small now, his bones protruding. So, suddenly eating a large amount of food naturally made my stomach feel full and bloated, as I wasn't used to eating so much.
"That's enough, Diandra. My stomach is so full!"
Diandra chuckled, "That's right. Your stomach isn't used to eating much, so even a little bit too much will make you full. That container has shrunk so much, so you have to get used to eating a lot, Adam."
Ah! Diandra could be, but that made Adam smile too, "Okay, we'll meet next Sunday again. We'll discuss how to start a business."
"Of course!"
Both of them smiled, and they looked back at Lake Kenanga. Truly, the lake held so many memories for Adam, and of course, for Diandra, it was also her first time with a man. Perhaps there was a new experience where she felt comfortable with the opposite sex, or perhaps something was growing in her heart, the seed of love.
Diandra herself didn't understand this, because for her, this was a new experience in her life. She was a baby who had suddenly become an adult. She had no practical experience, except for the knowledge she had always learned from her mother and family. Besides, Diandra didn't realize how vast the world was.
"Come on, Adam, let's go home. It's almost noon."
"Yes, wait a moment," Adam stood up and approached the lake's edge. He glanced out at the lake for a moment, the wind blowing through his body and hair. Meanwhile, Diandra watched from a distance, the wind also blowing through her hair.
Adam paused for a moment, facing Kenanga Lake, and silently said, "Naura... goodbye. I'm going to start a new day. Be happy there. I never blamed you for all this, because this is God's path for us.
I always pray for your happiness. And, for some reason, I still think about you. Pray for me that I can forget you, because I need new strength to get through my days. Goodbye, Naura."
Although he didn't say anything, Diandra felt it was Adam's farewell to her. Adam turned to Diandra and began to walk away from Kenanga Lake, the place where Adam and Diandra shared their most beautiful memories.
"Let's go home, Diandra."
The two smiled at each other and left the lake, the wind still blowing and the splashing water still visible. The clouds drifted away, but the sky was still blue; a new day had arrived.
