Naura's Tears

27. Diandra Blushes with Embarrassment

Syarif has long helped his friend Adam with all his affairs. He has been his best friend and teacher. Seeing Adam recover, Syarif is very happy and always grateful to Allah SWT. He has prayed for Adam's recovery and accompanied him through difficult times.

It was a friendship they built together at the Islamic boarding school.

As a friend, Syarif couldn't leave Adam during difficult times. He even put aside all his own affairs. He himself had a crush on one of the women at the same Islamic boarding school. And, because he was busy taking care of Adam, he even left Aisyah for a while.

Friendship is more important, and Syarif didn't dare make promises to Aisyah. He had also accepted that Aisyah would marry someone else first. Syarif didn't make any promises to Aisyah, even though they loved each other.

Now, Adam is healthy. Syarif wants to see Aisyah again and strengthen himself to win the woman he loves so much. Now, everything is different! Syarif had to take a stand for his own future.

Right!

Syarif was going to meet that woman, the woman with the dimples who was so sweet when she smiled. Imagining Aisyah in her headscarf made Syarif's heart flutter. It had been a long time since Syarif had heard from the woman he loved so much.

They had once promised to build a family. However, Syarif had to decide to help Adam recover. Aisyah felt abandoned by Syarif, as if she were no better than Adam. Syarif chose his best friend over Aisyah.

Adam had improved and permitted Syarif to hurry. So that afternoon, Syarif headed to the Al Hikmah Mosque.

Syarif ran a business with Adam's money; his shop was large enough to accommodate the complete range of building materials he sold. Syarif's capital was up to 5 billion rupiah, and Adam didn't care. Regarding the partnership, Adam only asked for 20 percent of the profits, which was like a charity to Adam.

For Syarif, it was his livelihood. He hadn't worked yet, but he'd been constantly helping Adam and his mother. God was indeed just; now, at least, Syarif was a manager at a very large store, he said. He never imagined he'd be able to work, or even be the boss, of such a large store.

Syarif felt grateful for everything he'd received; a grateful person was truly the richest person in the world. He never imagined he'd achieve something he'd never even imagined. He'd only ever considered being a market worker or a porter, but now he had to manage several people because the store was so busy.

Regarding whatever happened at the hardware store, Adam entrusted everything to Syarif. He said Syarif would definitely be able to carry out his duties well because Adam knew Syarif so well.

Adam also said that all management, sales, and inventory were left entirely to Syarif. Syarif understood Adam's role, and he needed to focus on running the hardware store well. Furthermore, it was a gift for his future family, as he was now unemployed, as he would be marrying Aisyah in a few days.

Adam didn't want to interfere in any way with the hardware store; he trusted Syarif completely in his abilities. Syarif immediately learned a lot from Mr. Fandi, including how to manage employees and so on. Syarif adapted quickly, but he himself was a bit overwhelmed because his wedding day was approaching.

Aisyah's family also fully approved of the early marriage; they were now happy that Aisyah's future husband was someone who managed a large store. They had previously been somewhat skeptical of Syarif because of his job. Islamic boarding school graduates were often looked down upon for lacking the necessary skills.

They were wrong; Syarif was very agile, and the building supply store business became very busy. The wedding was expedited after the engagement, only 10 days after the proposal. Now, there were only three days left.

Regarding the building supply store, Syarif accepted Adam's advice to entrust a few days to his employees. It didn't need to be a burden; they could definitely take care of everything.

Syarif himself was now also thinking about Adam. According to Syarif, Adam was now pushing himself harder because he was busy trying to find clarity on land ownership around Lake Kenanga. For some reason, Adam wanted to spend his money on developing businesses and tourism there.

Not wanting to worry, Syarif was confident that Adam would be able to do it and return to his usual diligence. He must be thinking of a great plan, certainly aided by Diandra, who was always by his side.

Hard times are inevitable. Adam had been through them, and now he was beginning his brightest. The wheels were turning; Syarif was confident that Adam had a bright future. Syarif was also happy to see his friend now enthusiastically living his days.

Now, Syarif only needed to focus on his wedding. The wedding had been postponed for three years because he wanted to be with Adam. Now everything had paid off, and his happiness was that it was time to think about it. All the preparations, the proposal, and all the expenses for the wedding day had been covered by Adam.

Adam promptly ordered someone to record and prepare everything for the wedding. So, Syarif just needed to prepare himself and not be nervous during the wedding ceremony. That was Adam's message.

Syarif was right, considering Adam his best friend. They had shared their ups and downs at the Islamic boarding school and eaten everything together, so this wedding day seemed to bring someone into their lives. However, they realized that time moves on, and everyone experiences different phases.

They only hoped, even though everything could change with each person's circumstances, that they would remain good friends, even when they were reunited in heaven.

"Is your wedding dress ready, Syarif?" Adam asked as he visited his friend's house, his legs still slowly moving, unable to stand upright or run.

"That's it, Adam. So, what are you going to wear to my wedding? Aren't all your clothes ugly?" Syarif laughed teasingly at his friend.

"You, don't worry. Diandra has prepared the best dress for me on your wedding day, of course."

"Why is Diandra the one preparing it? Are you guys joining us soon?" Syarif teased again, and Adam just shook his head.

Syarif was just trying to lighten the mood; he didn't want Adam to be left alone for too long. Although it seemed to get to the point, Syarif delivered it with a joke, filling the atmosphere with cheerful smiles and not offending Adam.

However, on the other side of them, Diandra, unwittingly listening to this, felt her chest pounding and her face turning red. She quickly left, afraid of being caught and blushing.

"You're Syarif. I haven't thought about marriage for a while now. I want to heal my wounds and be of benefit to many people, Syarif. Remember, don't bring that up again, okay?"

Syarif immediately understood, "Okay, my friend, it's up to you to marry when and who. I'll just support you." Syarif patted his friend's right shoulder. His body was now starting to fill out; his bones were still prominent, but Adam's face was starting to glow, and he was no longer pale.

Adam also understood that Syarif was only joking and was so happy to be able to talk to him again. For a long time, Syarif had only talked to himself, even with Adam. It was as if Syarif was talking to a tree that silently listened to him.

The treatment that once brought crowds to Adam's house was no longer available. Everyone understood this because Adam had recovered from his illness, and he no longer shed the tears he had when he was ill and confined to his room to nurse the wounds of his love.

Furthermore, no one at Adam's house ever sought treatment for Adam's tears. It closed and ceased service, as Adam had recovered and would no longer assist anyone who came for treatment. Adam urged the person who had already come to seek medical treatment. Although disappointed, Adam prayed for the person's speedy recovery.

Gradually, the issue of Phoenix's tears faded away, and it seemed to disappear on its own. Like the rain had stopped and the sun had returned.
