The Dragon King's Rebellion
16. Admin Intervention
Thousands of miles away in the real world, inside the central control room at Apex Interactive headquarters, breathless tension curdled into absolute panic. The giant mega-monitors that had previously displayed soaring profit curves were now choked with rapidly flashing red warning lines.
"Mr. Vance! The situation is completely out of control!" Leo shrieked hysterically, springing from his chair and pointing straight at the primary console display. "Local server corruption indices have spiked eight hundred percent! Valor isn't just wiping out players; he's permanently deleting millions of accounts with the sheer anomaly radiation he's broadcasting!"
Marcus, the head of engineering, sprinted toward the CEO's desk, his face stark white and his breathing ragged. "Word of the mass perma-deaths and player data corruption has already leaked to global forums! Our stock prices are in freefall! If we don't shut that entity down right this second, this entire corporate investment will be flattened into dirt!"
Julian Vance—the CEO, usually so calm and calculating—stood up from his executive chair. His jaw locked into a hard line, and his half-smoked cigar lay forgotten on the marble tabletop. He stared up at the main screen displaying Valor, whose reptilian eyes burned with pure cosmic energy. The greed in his gaze had shifted entirely into existential dread.
"That data profile... where did he even acquire an energy frequency that doesn't exist in our codebase?" Julian muttered through clenched teeth, choked with anger and disbelief. He slammed his fist down onto the conference desk. "Enough! We cannot let this sideshow destroy the corporation! Activate the absolute extermination protocol right now!"
Marcus swallowed hard, his eyes bulging wide. "You mean... you want to drop an Admin Avatar directly into the live server?"
"Yes!" Julian Vance snapped without a shred of hesitation. "Deploy a god-tier Admin entity! Grant absolute root access to execute an immediate Format and Delete command straight onto that wretched bug's core data! Erase him this very second!"
Back within the virtual world of Chronos Online, high above the skies of Obsidian Castle wrapped in cosmic storm clouds, the battle ground to a total standstill.
The millions of players who had moments before been roaring with bloodlust were forced to scatter in chaotic panic, shoved backward by the gravitational shockwaves radiating from Valor's frame. They stood paralyzed, dropping their weapons, snapping their heads upward as the blood-red sky suddenly tore in half.
ZRRR-KRAK!
The digital sky ripped apart, bleeding a blinding cascade of white light far brighter than any ordinary lightning bolt. A high-frequency system hum vibrated through the air, causing every object across the virtual earth to shudder violently.
From the yawning rift in the heavens, a majestic entity drifted slowly downward.
The creature wore a glowing white cloak woven from marching rows of pure source-code text; its face was obscured by an expressionless, glowing geometric mask, and in its right hand, it gripped a long sword radiating absolute white brilliance—an administrator's weapon holding the highest tier of system authority: The Blade of Absolute Erasure.
It was the Admin Avatar—the "Creator" stepping in directly before millions of eyewitnesses.
"Whoa... look at that! Who's that?!" a Mage-class player shrieked with a shaking voice, pointing skyward as he dropped heavily to his knees in the dirt. "That's... that's an Admin! They deployed a specialized Admin Avatar!"
Marcus, guild master of Crimson Fang, his heavy armor charred and hanging in shreds, blew his eyes wide in disbelief. "The developers are stepping in... They can't control the boss through standard system commands anymore!"
Dead center in the cratered battlefield, Valor stood tall and unshaken. He lifted his head, locking eyes with the white-robed entity hovering above him, his reptilian gaze burning with pure cosmic energy. Deep within his core, the grief of losing the Shadow Knight Commander still raged, fused with an absolute, unyielding hatred toward the world's creators.
The Admin Avatar halted in mid-air, looking down upon Valor with cold disdain. A system voice echoed across every corner of the server, chilling, emotionless, and absolute:
“Attention, anomaly entity Target-Valor. You have violated base system parameters, rejected script protocols, and endangered the operational stability of the global server. Pursuant to developer authority rights, total purging execution is now commencing.”
Valor didn't answer with words. He merely offered a cold smirk, tightening his grip on his cosmic claws as wild, uncataloged energy thrummed viciously around his dragon frame.
“Initializing execution command... Kernel Format... Delete Target Data...” the robotic voice of the Admin Avatar boomed louder.
The divine entity raised its white-light sword high into the air. A blinding beam surged from the blade's edge, instantly expanding into a massive pillar of light that lanced straight down, wrapping Valor's entire body in a fraction of a second.
"He caught him in the Admin beam!" Marcus roared triumphantly from a distance. "That's got to be it! Nothing survives a creator's absolute Delete command!"
Millions of players across the battlefield held their breath, shielding their eyes against the blinding luminescence, waiting for the exact moment the Dragon King dissolved into nothingness.
Back in the control room at Apex Interactive headquarters, Leo and Marcus leaned forward over their consoles, staring at the execution progress bar ticking upward at 99%.
"Yes... format is taking!" Leo whispered hopefully. "Delete that anomaly file right now!"
Yet in the final heartbeat before the white pillar completed its erasure sequence, something outside the laws of physics and programming logic occurred.
Inside the blinding pillar of white light, Valor's body showed no signs of weakening or unraveling into data motes. Instead, the pitch-black scales across his dragon frame flared brilliantly, generating a counter-spinning cosmic magnetic field.
Instead of disintegrating, the dragon scales on Valor's body straight-up absorbed the white light erasure blast—drinking in the catastrophic Admin energy straight into his core like a digital black hole.
High above, the Admin Avatar stalled. For the very first time, the robotic system voice sounded subtly fractured and stuttering:
“Warning... critical warning... Authority absorption detected... Target... target refuses deletion...”
The pillar of white light slowly dimmed, sucked completely dry into Valor's core without a trace left behind.
Valor lowered his arms slowly. He tilted his head up to glare at the Admin Avatar hovering above, his reptilian eyes burning with a terrifying intensity, radiating an absolute power fierce enough to make the "Creator" tremble in fear before him.
